It’s not easy making a ceremac mug. The handle can be especially tricky. Luckily, there’s this great, instructional video. Follow along with me:

  • Hold somewhat upside down.
  • Get your hand wet.
  • Get this wet.
  • Start gently pinching and pulling
  • Do it gradually.
  • Do it from all angles.
  • Put a groove down the middle??
  • Turn your hand around in several different directions.
  • Keep it really wet.
  • Keep it really lubricated.
  • Any friction means you might accidentally pull a piece off????
  • Inevitably it will happen to you the first time. It’s part of the learning process of pulling a “handle”.
  • Keep going until you’ve got it the length and thickness you want.
  • You’re almost there!
  • Turn it right-side up.
  • Fold up the corner.
  • Fold up the corner?
  • Push the base to right there where you “scored”.
  • Cut off, with your finger, the bottom of it and smooth it in.
  • Now you can do any finishing smoothing to the top part.
  • Now you can shape it into its final shape.

Surprisingly, there’s also a gay version out there for those of you who swing that way.
