Concerts

Guest post written by Phil Parke

I don’t exactly follow the tour bus around of big name rock stars today, like I used to dream about doing in high school when I listened to their records. But I still make it to plenty of concerts now, especially because retirement has given me so much extra free time.

I’m sure that the accumulated damage from standing by enormous speakers at concerts has a direct impact on my status as a miracle ear customer. But either way, I got a free hearing test test a few years ago and settled on getting a miricle ear hearing aid.

Not that I had any trouble hearing the music at concerts – I think those speakers are tuned to levels designed for people already with hearing loss – but now I can more easily hear what the people around me are saying during the songs. That was always a problem before and often led me to yell in the ears of my companions just so I could hear myself speak. Obviously, the people that go with me to concerts now are very grateful and it makes for a much more pleasant ride home afterward.
